We are based in a rural village and the work of the practice is a direct response to the conditions and experiences of living and working in a small community. Our overarching aim is to produce buildings that support and contribute to a modern rural life.

Through both desire and necessity our projects are diverse in scale and type but share a common focus on the development of sustainable communities through proposals that address the changing social, political, logistical and economic conditions that determine rural life. Through careful analysis of the existing place and community we propose solutions that augment the existing and offer new opportunities for living.

The needs of each client and brief differ and our approach to each project varies in response. The RIBA's Plan of Work divides the construction process into eight sections and provides a means of understanding the design and construction process. Our involvement in each project is tailored to suit the needs of each client.
